About Sumo's Life

From CFI

Sumo

by Liam UiCearbhaill ~ August 2006

Sumo, like the wrestler that

His nickname did imply

Faced the world squarely

And let opinions fly

He looked out on the future

At the choices that we face

He saw the right and wrong of

It and boldly took his place

The forest wrapped in Cloud Mist

And Wal-Marts wrapped in wealth

Economies to localize

And governmental stealth

Year 2000 prophesies

A world we can sustain

All earned his rapt attention

To protect or to disdain

Every movement needs its heroes

In Sumo we had one

Sometimes his tact was lacking

But a shirker he was none

He liked that stick for talking

When he had a thing to say

And to all of us he left behind

He's passed that stick today'
