- How long have you been farming?
- How much land do you farm?
- Do you grow just for yourself? Commercially?
- How many years commercially?
- What economic form do you prefer: market, community based non-market?
- Do you grow organically? Conventionally?
- What crops do you grow?
- What other crops have you tried to grow (unsuccessfully)?
- How many people do you estimate you can feed from the acreage you farm?
- How many people does it take to produce your crops?
- Do you use season-extending methods? If so, what?
- Do you produce value-added products to sell? If so, what?
- What are your energy sources? What do you use for tillage, water pumping, transportation?
- Do you use tractors? Other machinery? Animal power?
- If you use animal power, how much forage/feed supplement does it take for one animal? Do you grow this yourself?
- What percentage of your time do you estimate you use to farm?
- If there were better markets for your crops, would you like to farm more? Do you have more land to put into production?
