The GULP working groups that have been established thus far are listed below. Click on the link provided for information about group projects.

FOOD - Growing and Preserving: This group is working to develop local food self sufficiency and is exploring projects such as developing community gardens, local food events and a community Code Kitchen.

CIVIC ACTION: This group is working to provide meanful interaction between residents and local government entities. The group seeks to foster partnerships in developing a low energy Ukiah.

HEALTH: This group seeks to engage both the traditional and alternative healing communites to discuss and prepare for delivering treatment in a low energy Ukiah.

MOBILITY: This group is working to encourage alternative transportation by expanding and linking biking/walking trails and creating lively community pedestrian areas and on alternative fuel possibilities.

LOCAL BUSINESS: This group is focused on supporting and developing local banking & grants, local insurance, local businesses and manufacturing, local currency and the local workforce.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH:This group coordinates communications within the group and to media outlets, as well as creating youth and life skills education.

WATER: The water group is researching current supply and demand of water in the Ukiah area in order to create a sustainable water budget to meet Ukiah's water needs while encouraging conservation, reducing energy demand needed for transport and wastewater disposal, and promoting self sufficency.
