'If you want to create a log in to write an impression or a recollection about Sumo please do.
... I crossed paths with Sumo back in the late 70's early 80's. Sumo and Jenny and the kids lived at my mountain cabin in Calistoga. I learned mushrooming, computers and all sorts of stuff from Sumo. He had an incredible intellect and a was a really nice guy. Ed Bender
.....my best memory of him was at the Joanna Macy workshop in Ukiah a few years back. One of the exercises we did was to partner up and gaze into each other's eyes without looking away. Sumo was my partner, and looking into his eyes put such a big smile on my face when i saw what his spirit held there. You, your family, and anyone who had the chance to know Sumo are blessed to have shared in that spirit. Johanna Schultz
...Sumo had such a huge heart and mind that the hole he leaves behind is enourmous. Our whole family will miss him greatly. He was a truly sweet guy. Katrina Frey
...we have many fond memories of you and Sumo, beginning on the Serengeti. As he transcends, we have the tough part. Clint and Jane Kelley
...I am so very sorry for all of our loss of Sumo. While I did not know him well I always experienced him as embracing those in his energy field in a warm and loving embrace. He was one of those rare folks with the gift of making one feel special. Ruth Sander
...Pat was a very, very dear friend and classmate. A bit of me died with him. Rest in peace. Rick Hillhouse
...He was called too soon. What a loss to the humans - what a loss to us. At least we know he's charming whomever on the next level while he's shaking it up at the same time. Tom Forest and Gudrun
...The loss to you and the community seems immeasurable. We can only imagine his vision and guiding spirit hovering over you and the troubled world, an invisibile white tailed kite watching the rest of us. With much sadness but knowing Sumo's spirit will never leave Mendocino County. Bill Radtkey and Janey Shepherd
...We've always had a soft spot in our hearts for Sumo. When you all had your rock shop in Redwood Valley my youngest son was a patron. He was 7 years old when he spied a walrus tooth fossil pendant. He gazed longingly, asked how much it cost over and over. $20 seemed like a million to him. He and Patrick clearly were kindred souls, and I could see Patrick appreciated him. Finally, David asked: "You got any jobs you need done around here?" Patrick did not miss a beat and before long they had negotiated a few hours of work to pay for the prized walrus tooth. I was so grateful that David got his first work experience from such a heartfelt and worthy man. He still has that pendant and he tells people it was the earnings from his first job. I can only imagine the creative tumult and shake-up Sumo is initiating on the "other side". I have a strong feeling we're going to be glad he's over there helping us in the days to come. Anne Oliver
...he was so hip and so genuine not to mention brilliant, engaging, warm - one of my favorite people...we have very fond memories, he's never to be forgotten. Alan and Alice Kaplan

I will miss his keen mind, sense of humor, his clear perceptions, observations and playful spirit. A true gift to our community that will stay with us, that has become a part of us. Tara Sufiana
