Local Food Project
From CFI
Restoring a vibrant, self-sustaining local food economy in the modern world is a complex proposition. It will require many steps and much experimentation -- including trying new forms of consumer and producer education, marketing methods and roles, and land use arrangements. The following material is part of a working draft of steps toward a sustainable local food economy in the Ukiah Valley and Mendocino County. It is the evolving effort of a small group, which started meeting on April 31, 2007. The draft material is intended both to help steer local food advocacy efforts (both by suggesting opportunities for new efforts and by enlisting or redirecting other existing local efforts as part of a larger plan) and to form the basis of applications for funds to support steps in the overall plan. Please add your thoughts and insights. To be included on the group mailing list contact Scott at scratty2@earthlink.net
