Answer
There are state, county and city law enforcement agencies.
California Highway Patrol has an office in Ukiah, but 8 officers live in the Willits Area and are generally active in our region. For the region as a whole, 36 officers are available on call anytime.
Mendocino County Sherrif Department has an office in Willits at the courthouse. Four officers are on duty at all times, and 11 officers live in Willits, primarily assigned to this region.
The Willits Police has 2 officers on duty at all times, and 11 officers on staff.
The Little Lake Fire Dept is based in Willits. They have 5 paid employees, 3 full time and 2 part time. They also have 37 active volunteers.
Willits police respond to city issues. Sherrif responds outside of city limits. Highway patrol mainly stays on major highways. All agencies respond to emergency situations.
