The following are educational programs under fiscal sponsorship of CFI.
The list is in chronological order of affiliation. Tax deductible donations for these organizations' can be made through CFI by sending the donation along with a note indicating the project for which it is intended.
- Mendocino Environmental Center Provides environmental education programs and is an information resource center with over 10 years of archived information about regional environmental and social justice issues. The MEC is currently refurbishing their building and establishing the KMEC radio station there, community members interested in participating in the Programming Collective should click on the link and post your interest and contact information. Located in Ukiah CA.
- Earth Cycles Radio Provides a voice for North American Native Tribes Environmental Issues by setting up community micro-power radio stations.
- Parents for Peace Established after September 11 as a support group for parents to dialogue with other parents about how to advocate for a peaceful community and world for our children.
- Mariposa Center Promotes the knowledge and practice of organic and biodynamic farming and other activities related to the cultivation of physical, environmental, and spiritual well being.
- MACBE - Mendocino Alliance for a Community Based Economy Works to join voices and creative power to build a community that provides security and health for all, in food, water, shelter, and the ecosystems on which we depend. MACBE does this by advocating and seeking to to enable the growth of broad-based local ownership of farms, businesses, and services and encourage the development of new ones. MACBE advocates and supports economic justice in our community, advocates respect and equitable compensation for all workers, advocates an economy that uses land and resources to provide for the local needs first and a healthy environment for future generations, and advocates relationships of respect and initiates collaborations among local non-profit organizations, governmental entities, households, native tribal communities, and individuals.
- Cleveland Ln. Community Garden - A community garden teaching and housing gardens for +/- twenty families living on Cleveland Ln. in Ukiah CA.
- Mendocino Organic Network MON - MON is a local organization helping local farms and businesses in Mendocino County. Our aim is to assure a local healthy economy, environment and food system. Our main project is Mendocino Renegade which is a local eco-label Beyond Organic certification. This program is an affordable alternative to USDA organic certification.
- Greater Ukiah Localization Project GULP - GULP is a citizen initiated effort to prepare the Ukiah Valley for challenges of Peak Oil. It aims to work with the Ukiah area community to foster a localized sustainable economy that utilizes local resources and skills and to provide improved working and lving conditions for all residents of the Ukiah Valley.
