(Jason Bradford) Where do our gardening tools come from now? Where do our few solar panels come from? Anyone know a blacksmith?
(Robert Larson) Note that there's a lot of conceptual overlap between "Industry" and the miscellaneous (WEL top-level) article on Business Opportunities so you may want to check both places. While the group may currently be on hold (or in limbo), post-carbon industry seems like an enormously important issue, and I have been researching it for some time. In the absence of other activity I'm planning to start posting as much useful information here as I can. If anyone else shares my concern and has time perhaps we could consider activating the group. In the meantime interested people might want to check out the following attempt at a comprehensive (or at least broad) approach to this topic.
