Cloud Forest Institute has been supporting ecological conservation in North Western Ecuador and in the town of Mindo since 1996. This longstanding commitment has succeeded in protecting over 1500 acres of wilderness in partnership with the Ecuadorian organizations ALLPA and Fundacion Cambugan as part of a larger international collaboration with Rainforest Concern to protect more than 200,000 acres as part of the Choco-Andean Corridor Project. Cloud Forest Institute supports other conservation efforts in Ecuador by organizing volunteerism and education through Service Learning programs with a diverse group of community partners at private reserves from the Amazon, throughout the Andes and on the Pacific Coast.
